Prodely vs Photoroom
Updated August 2026
Photoroom is one of the best-known AI photo editors, built out from background removal into a broad creative suite with a well-regarded mobile app. Prodely is narrower and deeper: it connects to a store, works through a whole catalogue, and produces video and listing copy alongside stills. Most people choosing between them are really choosing between editing images and producing a catalogue.
What is the difference between Prodely and Photoroom?
Photoroom is an AI photo editor — background removal at its core, extended into product imagery, video generation and brand kits, across web and a strong mobile app. Prodely is a pipeline: products come in from your store, image, video and copy sets go out, and results are pushed back.
How do the plans compare?
Photoroom sells four tiers — Pro, Max, Ultra and Enterprise — metered by monthly AI credits and separate export limits, with 4K on Ultra and above. Prodely uses one credit per generated image with no separate export cap; Starter is $19 for 100 credits, or $0.19 per image.
| Photoroom | Prodely | |
|---|---|---|
| Metering | AI credits + a separate monthly export cap | one credit per generated image, no export cap |
| Published tiers | Pro, Max, Ultra, Enterprise | Free through Enterprise+ (7 tiers) |
| 4K output | Ultra and above | up to 4K depending on plan |
| Video | Video Generator from Max upwards | product video included |
| Mobile app | yes, a major strength | web |
| Store integrations | not the focus | Shopify, WooCommerce, IdoSell, Allegro |
| Listing copy | not offered | included |

The two-axis metering matters when you compare: a Photoroom plan can have credits left but no exports remaining, so the effective cost per delivered image depends on your mix of editing and exporting. Prodely's single credit per image is easier to forecast, which is not the same as being cheaper.
What does Photoroom do better?
Editing, and reach. Background removal is what they built the company on and it shows, the manual editing controls are more capable than anything here, and the mobile app has no equivalent in Prodely. For a seller who photographs products on a phone and edits on the same device, that workflow is hard to beat.
What does Prodely do that Photoroom does not?
Treat the catalogue as the unit of work. Products sync from Shopify, WooCommerce, IdoSell or Allegro, generation runs across them, and finished assets go back to the listing. It also writes listing copy, which Photoroom does not attempt — it is a visual tool.
Which should you choose?
Choose Photoroom if your work is editing individual images, you value a mobile workflow, or you need fine manual control. Choose Prodely if the bottleneck is catalogue volume and the round trip between store and tool — and if you also need video and written copy from the same products.
Common questions
Can I use both?
Commonly, yes. Generate catalogue coverage through an integrated pipeline, then take the few images that matter most into a dedicated editor for final control.
Which is cheaper?
Not stated here, deliberately. Photoroom's prices are not readable from their pricing page without running its scripts, and the two meter differently — credits plus exports against one credit per image — so a per-image comparison needs their current figures and your own usage mix.
Does Photoroom connect to my store?
Store integration is not their focus; they are positioned as a photo editing suite. Prodely integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, IdoSell and Allegro.
